The Reo Adachi Scholarship Fund has been established in Kathmandu to provide scholarship from April, 2010 to students with visual impairments. In memory of late Mr. Reo Adachi, who passed away in 2007, 2,000,000 Japanese Yen was handed over to THKA by his family members in the month of December of same year to establish a Reo Adachi scholarship fund for the education of Nepalese children with visual impairments. Late Mr. Adachi was an earnest supporter of the projects in Nepal, supported by Tokyo Helen Keller Association (THKA). THKA discussed this matter with Nepal Association for the Welfare of the Blind (NAWB) on August, 2008 and for the proper management and distribution of the scholarship, both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 9th of November, this year. As per the MOU signed by two organizations, THKA remitted 2,000,000 Japanese Yen to NAWB for the establishment of 'Reo Adachi Scholarship Fund' on November 27, 2008 which THKA received from the family of late Mr. Adachi. We THKA family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Adachi family for their generous support and pray for the peace of departed soul.
