1. Aim:
It is a famous story that Helen Keller overcame her triple distress thanks to Anne Sullivan's dedication to her. Without Sullivan's support, Helen Keller might not have become in the limelight. In other word, it may be said that Sullivan's passion toward her student was as great as Helen's effort for breaking through her handicap.
This award was founded to provide the blind people with an opportunity to express their gratitude to such sighted people as Miss Anne Mansfield Macy Sullivan who have made contributions to the self-independence and the betterment of lives of the visually impaired people.
2. Criteria for Nomination:
Sighted person who has contributed to support of blind people's self-independence in the fields such as in education, social welfare and culture.

Testimonial and Crystal trophy
4. Nomination:
Nomination should be done with a recommendation letter and personal profile to be send to the address shown below. Among the nominees, an award winner is nominated by the Award Committee entrusted by Tokyo Helen Keller Association.
5. Period of Nomination:
March 1 through June 30 (every year)
